Pre installation Procedures

Prior to commencement of work all materials & documents relevant to particular section of works will be checked, ensuring that the materials are as per approved material submittals. All relevant documentation (drawings, material submittal & method statement) & materials applicable to particular area of works will be checked by site supervisor prior commencement of work. The Site Supervisor/Foreman will also check that proper tools & equipment are available to carry out the work and are in compliance with contract specification.

Method of Statements

  • Method of Installation

    Check the system for proper installation in accordance with relative drawing & HVAC design specification.
    Refrigerant pipe running through slabs/walls shall be through sleeves as per approved shop drawing.
    Install the indoor/outdoor unit on the location shown in approved shop drawing. Identify the route of refrigerant piping between indoor & outdoor units. Make sure the route is direct & as short as possible.
    Connect the suction piping and liquid refrigerant piping to indoor unit. Install condensate drain outlet from indoor unit to drain system.
    All electrical connections to indoor/outdoor unit will be carried out as per manufacturer's wiring diagram / shop diagram. Refrigerant pipes will be insulated with approved material submittal.
    All the wall/slab openings of refrigerant piping will be closed in approved manner. Thermostat (remote control type) will be fixed to wall by using screws as per manufacturer's recommendation.
    The system shall be tested with commercial nitrogen gas with regulator & a gauge manifold to provide the proper test pressure desired & to prevent over pressurizing the system.
    Refrigerant pipes testing, vacuuming will be carried out as per manufacturer's recommendation.

    This Method Statement covers the onsite installation of Air Handling Units (AHU'S) in the buildings. This procedure is to define the method used to ensure that AHU unit Installation & final connection as per the contract requirements.

    Pre installation Procedures :

    Ensure that Air Handling Units received are inspected and found acceptable as per approved material submittal.
    Check the name plate details of Air Handling Units as per approved shop Drawing/schedules & material submittals before installation. Records will be submitted to consultants for review.
    Ensure that all related materials (Rubber pads, Vibration isolators etc.) of approved make, model, & type are available before carrying out any work.
    Prior to Commencement of work, areas & access will be inspected to confirm that Site is ready to commence the work.
    All relevant documentation (Drawings) & Material applicable to particular section of works will be checked by Site Supervisor prior to commencement of work.
    The Site Engineer/ Site Supervisor will give necessary instructions to tradesmen (Duct erectors) & provide necessary approved construction/shop drawings of latest revision along with coordinated lay outs.
    The Site Supervisor/Foremen will also check that proper tools & equipment are available to carry out the work and are in compliance with contract specification. The Site Supervisor also explains the tradesmen regarding safety precautions to be observed.
    Ensure that all lifting operations are carried out as per approved procedure & manufacturer's recommendation.

    Method of Installation :

    Prior to commencement of work coordination will be done with other services.
    Check the foundation of AHU's for size, orientation & finishes as approved shop drawings for builders work.
    Make sure that AHU's are free from damage & all internal components are complete & in good condition.
    AHU's will be installed in location as per approved shop drawing.
    Install the AHU's on concrete foundation by using suitable equipment recommended by manufacturer (eg. Rollers/jacks etc.). Manufacturer's recommendations will be followed during erection of AHU.
    Multi-section units will be joined as per Manufacturer's instructions. Ensure to remove Shipping Bolts.
    Ensure the orientation of AHU's as per approved shop drawing during installation. Serrated rubber pads (Neoprene Isolator) will be provided below AHU's (Between base of unit & concrete supports).
    AHU's which are ceiling suspended will be mounted by using threaded rods, spring hangers etc. as per approval.
    Any cut edges of angles, channels will be touched up with red oxide paints & threaded rods will be touch up with galvanic paints for ceiling suspended Coils/AHU's.
    Connect all piping and accessories to AHU's/coils as per approved shop drawings/contract documents.
    Ensure that drain connections are made with adequate slope & approved U-trap & Clean out (C.O).
    Complete the duct connections to Air handling Units/Coils as shown in approved shop drawings.
    Filters of specified sizes will be provided (By Manufacturer of AHU's).
    Check that adequate space for maintenance and part removal of Air Handling Units is provided as per approved shop drawings.
    Complete the Electrical power connection including earthing in all respects as per approved electrical drawing & Manufacturer's recommendations.
    Ensure that the accessible parts/access doors of AHU's are not obstructed by cable tray/ trunking etc

  • Method of statement of Duct works

    The ducts are made from GI sheet & approved construction schedule. The Proposed GI duct work is used to distribute treated air from the Air handling units/fan Coil units to the confined space to be conditioned with specific temperature and controlled humidity. Also the proposed ductwork is used to extract foul air from the toilets & kitchen hoods from the occupied space.
    HVAC duct work generally includes all types of Supply Air Duct, Return Air Duct , Fresh & Exhaust Air Duct & their accessories such as duct elbows, offsets, transformation pieces, branch off pieces, tee connections, access doors, Split Damper, Fire Dampers, Motorized Fire & smoke Dampers, Volume Control Dampers, Sound Attenuators, flexible duct connector & insulation.

    Determine the position of duct supports as per approved drawings, coordinated layouts & specification.
    Prepare & fix the duct supports as per approved construction drawings & specification. Any cut edges of angles, channels will be touch up with red oxide paint.
    Transport the Duct pieces and fittings to final location.
    Pre-assemble the Duct pieces & fittings as per approved shop drawing ensuring the alignment.
    Insulation of duct work will be completed as per manufacturer's recommendations.
    Raise the duct work on to the supports ensuring that each length is aligned & leveled with preceding length as per dimensions shown on approved shop drawings.
    Proper duct sealant shall be applied on the joints. Any excess sealant shall be removed so that the joint left in clean & tidy condition.
    Ensure that duct work is clean internally & no tools/ construction debris exists within duct work before proceeding to next length.
    Ensure that all accessories like Volume control dampers, Fire dampers, Access doors, Test points, Sensors are rigidly installed in accordance with approved shop drawings.
    Ensure the duct surface is clean & dry before applying any insulation material. Ensure the thickness of insulation as per approved shop drawing.
    Ensure firm adherence of insulation around ducting by using approved adhesive between sheet metal & Insulation material & stuck up pins.
    Where insulated duct work passes through fire rated wall/partitions the gap between sleeve & duct work shall be filled with approved fire barrier.
    Ensure that all duct work installation is coordinated with other services.
    Ensure that flexible duct connectors will be used to couple the GI duct work with equipment & at all ducts crossing building expansion joints as per the approved drawings requirements.

  • Method Statement of Fans

    Method of Pre Installation :

    Fans complete with accessories received at site are inspected against approved material submittal & manufacturer's drawing. Fans will be stored as per manufacturer's recommendations. Prior to commence of work, areas & access will be inspected by site engineer/supervisor to confirm that site is ready to commence the work. All relevant documentation (drawing & material) to a particular section of works will be checked by site engineer prior to commencement of works. Site engineer/supervisor will give necessary instructions to tradesmen & provide necessary approved drawings. Site Engineer will also

    Method of Installation :

    Installation of in line mounted fans (ceiling suspended). Fans can be mounted either horizontally or vertically as per approved shop drawing. Support the fans by using threaded rods to the fan as per approved shop drawing. Provide suitable vibration isolators as per manufacture recommendations on the mounting brackets / holes. Complete the duct work / damper connections as per approved shop drawing. Ensure that sufficient service space is available to allow for removal of access covers & subsequent removal of fan & motor assemblies etc as recommended by fan manufacturers. Complete all electrical connections & ensure the tightness of terminations. Earthling shall be completed as per requirements. Complete the labeling of all electrical connections. Check the free rotation of motor shafts & other checks as per manufacturer's recommendations. Touch up paint will be carried out on paint damaged areas.

    Plant & Equipment Requirement :

    Single phase normal power supply for drill machines/ lighting the dark areas.

    5. Working Platforms

    Scaffolding/ladder as per the requirements.

    6. Pre-Installation

    all materials & documentation relevant to a particular section of works will be checked prior to the commencement of work, ensuring that the materials are as per approved material submittals. Prior to commencement of any work, areas & access will be inspected to confirm that ready to start the work. All Air-Outlet & Inlet to be as per consultants approved material submittals. Location of Air-Outlets fixing arrangement will be coordinated with false ceiling contractors. Check & ensure grills/diffusers/register/louvers, are free from scratches/defects & good for installation. Ensure the dampers are properly operating condition & in full open position.

    7. Air-Outlets Installation

    Ensure that all the Air-Outlet & the Inlet are approved. Check the entire ducting work/air outlets reflected false ceiling openings are as per drawings. Install the Air-Outlets to maintain proper level. Check the wall opening will be provided with wooden frames of suitable sizes as per dimensions of louvers. Ensure the duct dropper/plenum boxes installed are having enough clearance /space between the false ceilings. Adjust and remedy the levels/gaps. The dampers are provided where necessary to facilitate the proper distribution of airflow. Coordinate for cutout in the false ceiling board/tiles to match the fixing arrangement of Air-Outlets. The openings are provided in false ceiling for Air-Outlets & Inlets. Check suitable sizes as per dimensions. Ensure that Air-Outlets fitted in droppers properly without any leakage. Fix the Air- Outlets (alignment without gap) tight and secure.
